Jokowi Warns SKPD to Spend City Budget Wisely

The number of officials in the city government who being accused by several cases of alleged corruption, makes Jakarta Governor, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) sad. He cannot do much if the case is already in the realm of law. To solve this, he asked the Regional Working Units (SKPD) to be more careful in spending the city budget.

Jokowi will restrict the budget arrangement by using online system, such as e-catalog, e–purchasing, and e-budgeting. I cannot bear to hear it," said Jokowi while briefing to hundreds of civil servants (PNS) at City Hall, Thursday (4/10).
He reminded the staff to be more careful so that the budget corruption case can be minimized. Especially, the 2014 budget is jumped sharply by Rp 72 trillion compared to last year by Rp 51 trillion.
"I have to protect the budget-spending," Jokowi added.
He also did not want to hear his officials involved in corruption cases. Lastly reported, two officials of Jakarta Transportation Agency became a suspect in the alleged corruption of the procurement of TransJakarta buses and integrated city buses (BKTB), namely Drajad Adhyaksa and Setya Luhu.
